PARENT MEETING - THURSDAY, MAY 31
Please plan on attending a brief Parent meeting on Thursday, May 31st in the Library/Media Center at 7:00p.m. We are beginning our 2012-13 Season planning early and need a representative of each player at the meeting.

SUMMER CAMP 2012
We will again be having our Summer Camp to continue our players progress towards getting ready for the 2012-13 season. Camp times for current FV students will be starting on 6/18 from 10:00-12:00 Monday-Thursday

ROGER HOLMES YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP
The 21st Annual Roger Holmes Youth Basketball Camp gets started on 6/25 from 12:30-1:00 Monday-Thursday. We had a great camp last year and are looking forward to making this year even better! Camp is for 3rd-8th graders.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT @ F.V.H.S.
We will be starting up our skill development portion of our Spring basketball session this week. All components of the game will be covered and every player is invited. More information will be sent home.

SPRING BASKETBALL IS HERE!
All of our teams will be in Spring Leagues and Tournaments.The schedules have been sent home and game times are available by clicking on the 'Calendar' tab above.

VARSITY IN NATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN LAS VEGAS
The Baron Varsity squad played well in Las Vegas against travel team competition 4/21-22. F.V. was one of only two high school teams out of the 104 teams to participate in this tournament. The Barons finished second in their pool and then won their final game to complete a good weekend.

6TH PERIOD BASKETBALL
All basketball players enrolled in 6th period are expected to attend daily! Attendance is taken each day.

VARSITY FALLS TO UPLAND
The Varsity lost a tough game to Upland on the road in the CIF Play-Offs 59-56. The loss ended a great year for the Varsity and the Program. The Varsity posted the most wins of any Baron basketball team since the 2000 season.
Congratulations to all of our teams for their hard work and dedication!!

VARSITY TO TAKE ON #12 UPLAND IN C.I.F. FRIDAY, 2/17
The Barons will travel to Upland to take on highly regarded Upland High School in the First Round of the C.I.F. Play-Offs.
The game will start at 7:00

VARSITY FINISHES LEAGUE WITH WIN @ NEWPORT
The Baron basketball squad finished Sunset League play in 2nd Place after a win at Newport Harbor on Thursday. The Varsity is continuing to work hard to re-establish the tradition of excellence that was the hallmark of Fountain Valley Basketball. After moving up from the bottom of the league standings last year with a fourth place finish, moving up another two spots to 2nd is a great accomplishment for our whole team and especially for our seniors.

JUNIOR VARSITY & SOPHOMORES - - LEAGUE CHAMPS!!
Congratulations go out to Coach Meyer and the J.V.'s and Coach Baghdassarian and the Sophomores for bringing home Sunset League Championships!!
Both teams had outstanding seasons! Great job.

BARONS COMPLETE SEASON SWEEPS!!
The Varsity completed a season sweep of both Edison and Marina on Friday night. Wednesday saw the Barons go to Edison and play a tough, physical game. FV's defense led the way to a 53-51 victory.
Friday, in front of a GREAT SENIOR NIGHT home crowd, the Barons came away with a 77-43 win over Marina. The Varsity led from start to finish in an exciting last home game for our seniors.

PACK THE GYM NIGHT...A HUGE SUCCESS!!
Friday saw the biggest crowd in recent years as the Baron Program swept Newport Harbor. The over-flow student section was great all night.

FINALS WEEK
There are no games scheduled for Wednesday this week due t finals this week. Please check with your coach on practice schedule for the week.

BIG WEEK FOR THE BARONS!
The Varsity had a great week winning both Sunset League games. A great come back on Wednesday at home saw the Barons beat Edison in front of a large home crowd. The student section was rocking as FV came away with the victory. On Friday, the student section came out in force again at Marina to watch the Varsity pull away in the fourth quarter for the tough road win.

VARSITY IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA
The Varsity won the consolation bracket at the KSA Holiday Classic in Orlando, Florida. The team enjoyed the week of basketball and exploring Disney World.
The Freshman team played well all week and finished second in the FV Freshman Tournament.

BARONS SWEEP THE WEEK!
Thursday night concluded quite a week for Fountain Valley Basketball. The Barons swept their three opponents, on all levels, for a perfect 11-0 for the week. Great job by all!!
The JV and Sophomore squads will now take a week off from game action. The Freshman are hosting the FV Freshman Tournament starting 12/26. Please come out and support our Freshman squad.

The Varsity now prepares for their exciting trip to Orlando, Florida to play in the KSA Holiday Classic at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. The Barons will face competition from all over the country in this tournament as well as being able to explore Disney World during the week long trip.

ANOTHER SOLID WEEK FOR FV HOOP!
This past week saw all of the Baron Basketball teams in tournament action.
The Varsity went 3-1 in the Valley Christian Tournament falling in the Championship game Saturday night. This is the 4th time in 5 tournaments in the past two years that the Baron Varsity squad has gotten to the finals of their tournaments.
The JV team made it to the finals at Bolsa Grande Tournament but came up short going 3-1. This is the second Finals appearance for the JV's this season.
The Sophomores also made it to the Finals at the Saddleback Tournament but had to settle for 2nd place after a tough finals game.
The Freshman finished 5th and gained valuable experience at a very good Segerstrom Tournament.

GREAT START FOR THE BARONS!
With all of our teams beginning the season in tournaments, there were plenty of games all week long for Baron Basketball Fans.
The Varsity went 3-1 at the La Quinta Shootout taking home 3rd place in the 16 team tournament. The Barons played well and hope to carry that momentum into the Valley Christian Tournament 12/6-10.

The JV's battled all week and found themselves in the Finals of the Fountain Valley JV Tournament. The JV squad finished 3-1 after falling in a tough fought championship game.

The Sophomore squad shook off a first round defeat to go 3-1 and bring home the Consolation Championship at the 16 team Ocean View Tournament.

The Freshman team played well this week going 3-1 and took home the 3rd place trophy in the 16 team Bolsa Grande Tournament.

More tournament action this week as all of our teams will be playing. We hope to see you out there in your Baron Gear!

SEASON BEGINS!!
All levels begin their seasons this week. Please check with your coach on practice times this week. It will be a very hectic next few weeks with all of the tournament games and practices in-between! Check the Calendar tab for the most updated game times. For practice schedules, please be patient and flexible. FV is hosting tournaments for the next three weeks so the gym will be very crowded.

TIP-OFF DAY A GREAT SUCCESS!!!
A great time was had by all at our Tip-Off Day on Saturday. A great crowd came out to watch all of the teams compete. The Father-Son game was again the highlight game of the day!
A big thanks to all of the families that donated items for our raffle. The season is officially underway!!

FINAL CLEARANCE DAY - NOVEMBER 7TH 2:00
You must be cleared through the Activities Office before you can officially participate in practice starting November 12th. If you need any forms, let your coach know.

GOLF TOURNAMENT A HUGE SUCCESS!!
We had a great turn-out for the 2nd Annual Baron Basketball Golf Tournament. It was a perfect day for golf and a great time was had by all. A big thanks to the 76 golfers who came out to play and support Baron Basketball!

GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR SATURDAY, OCT. 22
Please join us for our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament to be held at Riverview Golf Course Saturday, October 22. Last year's tournament was a great success and we are looking for bigger things in 2011-12. SCHOOL STARTS!!
The 2011-12 school year is upon us! All players that are enrolled in 6th period basketball need to report daily. Attendance will be taken and grades given. To accomodate all of our players with the limited space that we have, we will be having workouts during 6th period and on some evenings. The schedule will be worked out this week and will be available after Labor Day. Please report to the gym 6th period until further notice.

OPEN GYM
The gym will be open at 10:00 on Wednesday-Friday for any player wanting to come down and play.

BOOSTER MEETING
There will be a Booster Meeting on Monday, August 15th @ 7:00p.m. in the Faculty Dining Room.

AUGUST "DEAD PERIOD"
Per CIF rules, we will not have any basketball activity in the gym between August 1 and August 21.

SOPHOMORES CLAIM EL TORO TOURNAMENT
With great hustle and all out team play, the Sophomores took the El Toro Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Barons were solid all tournament long. Congrats on a great tournament.

VARSITY TAKES BASH AT THE BEACH TITLE!
Congratulations go out to the Varsity for winning the Championship at the Bash at the Beach Tournament this weekend. The players showed hustle, team-work, and unselfish play all weekend.

SOPHOMORES CAPTURE NORTHWOOD CHAMPIONSHIP!
Congratulations to the Sophomore team for taking the Northwood Sophomore Tournament this weekend!! 4 great games were capped by a thrilling championship game that saw the Barons down by 12 with 3:45 to play. Great defense and some timely shooting brought the Barons back for the victory.

VARSITY GETS TO FINALS AT PALM SPRINGS!
The Varsity battled to the finals at the Palm Springs HS tournament 6/17-19. The Barons fell short in the championship game by one point. Great start for the summer!!

SPRING BASKETBALL
6th period continues daily and players are required to report to the gym. We will be sending home a spring/summer basketball interest form this week. Players need to return this form so that we can plan on the correct number of leagues/tournaments to get our players in.

BARONS FALL TO #4 DOWNEY
The Varsity battled from start to finish against 25-2 Downey but came up short in their CIF second round game. Thanks to all of the fans who came out to support the team!
Baron Basketball made some great strides this season...great job to all of our teams.

VARSITY WINS IN FIRST ROUND!
A landmark night for the Barons as they beat California HS in the first round of the CIF Play-Offs. Making a return to the play-offs for the first time in three years, the Barons posted the schools first play-off win in 10 years! Congratulations to our Varsity squad for all of their hard work and dedication.

BARON VARSITY RETURNS TO C.I.F. PLAY-OFFS!
The Varsity, ranked 13th in C.I.F., will travel to Whittier to play California High School on Wednesday at 7:00. Please make plans to get out to Cal High and support the Varsity as the Program makes a return to the Play-Offs!

ALL PLAYERS MUST REPORT TO 6TH PERIOD DAILY
All players need to report to 6th period everyday in order to receive credit and not be marked absent. If you are moving on to a Spring sport, please advise the coaches. Uniforms must be turned in on Tuesday, February 15th.

F.V. HOOPS VICTORIOUS ON ALL LEVELS VS. NEWPORT
The Freshman Blue, Sophomore, JV, and Varsity teams all came away with wins Wednesday night versus Newport Harbor. The night ended with the Varsity shooting their way to victory by nailing 13 three point shots and coming out on top 74-58.

BARONS WIN THRILLER AT HB 50-49!!
Congratulations to the Varsity for a big league win on the road at Huntington Beach. The win completed a program sweep of the Oilers by the Barons. The game was tough and physical with both teams playing well. The Barons are back in action Wednesday hosting Newport Harbor. Wear your Baron basketball shirts!!

BARONS SWEEP VIKINGS
All levels were victorious on Wednesday vs. Marina. The gym was packed and LOUD. The entire basketball program would like to thank the students for coming out and supporting the teams as they battle in league. Get out to HB on Friday to watch the Barons take on the first place Oilers.

Monday night's game vs. Westminster is "Pack the Gym" night. Please spread the word and bring as many people to this one as possible. We would like all of our fans to wear a white Baron Basketball shirt to the game.

SUNSET LEAGUE BEGINS
The always solid Sunset League begins play this Friday as the Program travels to Edison for the beginning of what promises to be a very tough league season. Please try and get out to as many games as possible and cheer the Barons on!

VARSITY FIGHTS WAY TO FINALS IN ARIZONA!!
Congratulations to our Varsity for reaching their third Championship game this season...a feat not many schools can claim. The Barons went 4-1 in the tournament playing some solid teams from Arizona and Nevada.

FROSH REACH FINALS!
The Freshman Blue squad made it all the way to the Finals of the FV Frosh Tournament 12/27-30. The Frosh fell short on the final day but played tough all week.
The Freshman Gold Squad brought home 3rd place hardware from the El Modena Tournament. Great job by both Freshman Teams!!

VARSITY GAME - RAINED OUT!
Due to a severe leak in the gym roof at Katella, the Varsity game has been cancelled. A make up date is trying to be worked out and will be announced as soon as known. The lower level games will be played in the auxillary gym as scheduled.

JV WINS SADDLEBACK TOURNAMENT!
Congratulations to the JV squad for bringing home the Championship from the Saddleback Tournament. The Barons won in double over-time in the semi-finals and in triple over-time in the Finals!

SOPHOMORES FINISH FV TOURNEY STRONG!
The Sophomore Team finished their own tournament 3-1 completing the tournament with a big win on Saturday. Congratulations to the Soph group on a great effort!

VARSITY REACHES FINALS AT VALLEY CHR. TOURNEY!!
The Varsity made it to the Finals of their second tourney in a row. The Barons again fell in the Finals but had a great week of games finishing 3-1. The J.V. team came back strong and finished fifth at Bolsa Grande. The Sophomores brought home the Championship at the Saddleback Tournament! The Freshman Blue went 2-2 at the always tough Segerstrom Tournament. The Freshman Gold fought their way to the Finals at the Mission Viejo Tournament but came up a little short in the Championship Game.

VARSITY REACHES FINALS AT PIO-TURION TOURNEY!!
Hope you were able to make it out to watch the Varsity this week play some great games and get the the Finals at Western High. The Barons played tough all week finishing 3-1. Their only loss came in the Finals, in over-time. Congratulations to the Varsity on getting the season off to a exciting start!
Our J.V. team made it to the Finals of our own tournament, falling only to Capo Valley on Saturday. The Sophomores got off to a good start at the OV Tourney and came away 2-2. The Freshman Blue team went 3-1 at Bolsa Grande dropping the semi-final game but came back to take third place. The Freshman Gold competed hard at the JV level at Los Amigos Tourney and gained valuable experience.

Please contact the coaches if you can come by the gym and help out with our lower level tournaments. It would be great to have parents from all levels participate in working the games especially when we play so that teams parents can watch their sons play. TIP-OFF DAY - A Great Day!!
A crowd of over 230 people came to our first ever Tip-Off Day and were treated to some great games and food. The highlight of the day was a buzzer beating 3 pointer for the Dads to win the Father-Son game! A big thanks to all of the families who donated raffle items and to all of the players for helping set up and take down. A great day was had by all and we are all looking forward to the start of the season.

GOLF TOURNAMENT A GREAT SUCCESS!!!
Our first ever golf tournament held on Saturday, October 23rd at River View Golf Course was a fun day for all. We ended up with 54 golfers participating in this years event! A big thanks to Tournament Sponsors - Adams Golf, Richartz Plastering, Inc. and Ballard and Ballard Jewelers.
The entire basketball program would like to again thank all of the golfers and parent volunteers who made our Inaugural golf tournament such a great day.
